I was so infuriated by some comments Labour’s Frank Field made about his Birkenhead constituents in a BBC interview earlier I went to the trouble of videoing it.

This really is a complete return to the 1980s Tony Benn days where Labour lectured and patronised the electorate and basically told them ‘your views are wrong’.

So if Labour want any tips on why they don’t connect with the electorate, I’d suggest they start with this old ‘socialist’ dinosaur…
