We agree in principle. Since there was enough evidence for him to be ordered to court regardless of his health, then a trial should have taken place.
There are of course other issues, Janner’s health deteriorating significantly in the months leading up to his hearing & his death shortly after. Would Greville Janner have faced trial before his death? Probably not.
There was nothing to stop a trial of facts, both before or after his death, once he was declared medically unfit to stand trial.
His family objected to this which is odd. Janner’s family have always maintained he was innocent & that his accusers are falsely accusing him.
A trial of facts would have cleared him if this is the case.
Flip it over & a trial of facts could have also led to his guilt being proven, which in turn…
